Its Cool

It's ok. Still getting used to it. There was no booklet on how to use its features. I'm just trying it out trial and error pressing this and that hoping it works the way it should and checking out the net and Utube. Its supposed to be unlocked but the phone still has a lot of features that are for At&t and am kinda lost. Hard to retrieve messages from voice-mail because phone keeps closing out even before I can put my code to get voice-mail.. kinda irritating. I have not been able to check out the other phone features cause there is no manual.. sad.

My fiance loves this

I bought this as a birthday gift, and my fiance is in love with it. He had never really had a smart phone before, but he is otherwise very technologically informed---builds his own computers. He has had an ipod that functioned as an iphone, sans the calls. The point of saying the above is that when he got the chance to play around with this phone, he found it much more versatile and customizable than the apple products he has used. The way you can change around your screens and the specific apps were all things he really enjoyed about the phone. It's very fast, and calls are very clear. He highly recommends it.

Buyers be ware of UMTS/3G version before you order

Not a review of the product, but while shopping for a family member I noticed a lot of these are European imports. Language- and feature-wise this does not matter, but the 3G frequency bands are different!If you buy the Europe/Asia 900/2100 MHz HSDPA/UMTS version it will *NOT* have 3G/4G on AT&T and T Mobile USA.For T Mobile USA you need one with the US 1700/2100 MHz HSDPA/UMTS band. Else the phone will still work, but only at much slower EDGE speeds and you will not be able to use voice and data in parallel.And for AT&T? Well, so far I have not found any unlocked (or locked) version of the HTC Radar that uses AT&T's 3G/4G 1900MHz HSDPA/UMTS band. So AT&T users, you likely will *NOT* be able to use 3G/4G on this phone at all ...So although this is strictly seen not a review, reading this will likely prevent a lot of returns.On the phone itself, the family member likes the phone after using it for 2 weeks. Good weight, good quality of materials and not too big. Unless you want a bigger screen, I would recommend this phone if you are in the market for a Windows Phone. The Samsungs felt a bit cheaper in plastic feel compared to this one. The Nokia Lumia 800 has a better screen, but this one wins IMHO on overall quality, weight in the hand and feel.

Awesome smartphone

I got the T-Mobile version the day it came out on T-Mobile. Really love this phone. After iOs and Android, Mango is such a fresh yet intuitive system, and it's rock-solid. I've been using this phone non-stop (save for when I sleep) and it's never crashed, unlike my various Android devices. The phone itself is high-quality and stylish, and Mango runs fast on a 1GHz processor and just 386MB of RAM. The only hiccup I've experienced is when playing the HD Kinectimals game and even then it's only occasional and barely noticeable. (The slight hiccup may be due to the multi-tasking nature of Mango.) Mango has true multi-tasking but at this time pre-Mango apps (including some of Microsoft's own Xbox Live games) cannot take full advantage of it without being updated. I've found all the apps I wanted to have among the 38,000 apps currently available in Marketplace.The most prominent feature in Mango is the Live Tiles on the Start screen (home screen). The live tiles show real-time info displayed by the underlying app. (Not all apps implement live tile updates.) I do wish the size of the tiles could be changed so more fit on one screen, but they are easier on the eye and more informative and thus useful then icons in iOS or Android. The app list, once it reaches a certain number, has alphabet tiles making the apps easier to browse to; but the list itself is always in alphabetical order. (Would be nice to be able to sort them chronologically...) Almost everything about the system is intuitive. A few areas still feel incomplete, but nothing that would distract an everyday experience. And the Metro interface is so intuitive and natural, and does not box you in like the iOS and Android interfaces.The Radar feels great in the hand. The screen is bright and has great viewing angles and contrast, even in bright daylight. The touchscreen is very responsive, way better than any Android phone I've used. The front-facing camera is only VGA so its use is limited, especially when there's only one or two apps at the moment that take full advantage of it (other than the built-in Camera app). Really weird that Skype is still not available now that it's part of Microsoft. Speaking of weirdness, Photosynth, one of the most popular apps on the iOS, is also missing.Gaming on WinPhone is just way better, mainly because of the availability of Xbox Live games. These are real games that look and play like they are developed by professionals, which they are. And they have variety, unlike the good games on Android or iOS all of which feel like they're offshoots of Angry Birds in some way (e.g., the use of elastic physics). I'm really having tons of fun with Xbox Live games for my phone, even though I don't own an Xbox 360 myself. (On the console I'm a PS3 guy.)I really love the HTC Radar 4G. Everything is what I wanted. I never felt at home with an iPhone and much less with any Android phone. I was not a Win Mobile fan, BTW, so I have no attachment to that older platform. I never used a Blackberry for real. This is reall the first smartphone, both hardware-wise and software-wise, that I feel I can truly use on a daily -- no, make that minute-by-minute -- basis.

ABE 123 is not a reliable seller

I am embarrassed by the service of abe123. I bought a HTC radar. Description of the said item clearly states that the cellphone is unlocked and the cost i paid for the mobile is 450USD. I was cheated by abe123. They sent me a mobile that is locked to T-Mobile USA and the invoice i received from ABE123 is for only 100USD. Please don't buy from ABE-123.Nevertheless HTC radar is quite good looking. Perfect to my hand and weight feels just right. Windows mango is quite refreshing to the eyes. I got bored to hell, with the grid layout and numerous icons.I am disappointed by the service of ABE123 and i again reiterate not to buy anything from ABE123.

Great Smartphone from Sony!

The particular Xperia S I bought is a German Generic unbranded unlocked one.The manufacturing date and code is 12W15 ABAE. Which means no LCD yellow tint issues.There are tons of video reviews around the internet so you can google that.Sony just started the ICS 4.0.4 update for Xperia S. After the update I feel like its a new phone!Most Android fans will tell you that this phone does not have the most cutting-edge hardware, i.e. quad-core CPUs..etc...etc..But in normal daily usage and gaming you won't feel the differences between dual-core and quad-core.At least Xperia S has a unique design, 12MP Camera with Sony Exmor R sensor, highest DPI LCD screen.Hardware gets obsolete very fast, but a good design and good looking phone can last much longer.Of course Xperia S has its cons as every phone in the market. Currently I don't feel its cons out-weight its pros and its uniqueness.Just remember get one with the first two digits of manufacturing code at least AB, not AA.

Best Phone I Ever Owned.

This phone is awesome. The screen is amazing, and I haven't even peeled off the screen protector that makes it look matte. Camera looks good. Feels solid. Loud speakers. The battery is the only problem, have to charge at the end of the day but it lasts pretty well for me unless you spend the whole day downloading apps. For some reason the phone turns off overnight when I wake up the battery is dead. I think I need to turn off WiFi when I go to sleep because WiFi uses about 11% of the battery. Overall, best phone I've ever used.

Everything went smoothly. The package came in a nice internally bubble padded UPS bag. And the phone box came in on time was in perfect condition. Everything about the phone is just right and perfect. I looked up the phone a lot before I made the purchase and knew everything about it and knew what to expect from the phone and its features. I purchased it from FGS Trading and everything came in perfect condition. The phone works exactly how I expected it to. A limited number of Xperia S's had a overheating problem which caused a yellowish tint on the screen, but I didn't have that issue with my phone. Although the phone didn't have any power out of the box so I had to leave it on the charger for a bit before my first time turning it on. Otherwise, it's all good and it's still running strong for me.

Very good phone for calls & text (using T-mobile)

Got this phone to replace my Samsung Vibrant. Got tired of Android phones. Yup, I can't believe I went back to a Windows Mobile platform. I needed a physical on/off button to hang up or dial people. As strange as it may seem, the Android on/off button would not work during a call on my Samsung Vibrant.I bought this unlocked phone for calls and text. I carry my T-mobile G-Slate tablet for internet functionality.The phone that arrived was an AT&T branded phone. Fortunately I could slip in my T-Mobile SIM card and it worked. Although it kept rebooting the first 20 minutes after I inserted the T-Mobile SIM. Also, I'm not sure if this was a refurbished unit. The outside casing looked new, but when I removed the battery there was this white sticker that looked like it was placed there by a 3rd party refurbished team.Regardless, this was well worth the price. Again, I needed a basic phone. The earpiece and speakerphone is loud, on par with the Samsung Vibrant. It boots up in about 45 seconds. It receives Edge internet only on T-Mobile.Ringtones are NOT very loud and there were not a good selection of ringtones.UPDATE 12/18/2011: I downgraded my review of this phone from 5 stars to 3 stars. The issue is dust collected under the screen. There is no way to get rid of it. Also, cannot see screen in direct sunlight.Battery lasts an entire day (24 hours). Again, it's not Android and it doesn't multi-task, that's why the battery lasts so long.Overall, I give this phone a big thumbs up.

I ordered this phone, works great even with a non AT&T sim card, I live in Costa Rica and works here, got better reception than other phones like an iphone or blackberry.Im very happy with it, the battery last for more than 3 days, however it didnt come with the driver and looks like impossible to get the dowloads that this phone requires to update it and to make all the applications usefull.

sooo my boyfriend had this phone a while ago..and i liked it, and i needed a back up phone because my LG vu plus's touch screen kept freezing, and based on the reviews of THAT phone, i wasnt the only one..soo i opted for something with a nice look and a qwerty keyboard...and lo and behold this phone was sixty bucks!soo i got it on october 3, and received it on october 4, paid 3.99 for next day shipping, and the phone is brand new..noo issues with anything, i highly recommend if youre looking for a good non-smart phone...
